Gaming apps are the rage these days because they offer a great source of easy entertainment via mobile phones. There is always some time to kill in our daily lives. You may be getting bored while waiting for a client or while in a queue at the departmental store. There are so many situations where an addictive gaming app can keep you engaged. Minecraft is one such game which comes to mind as it has such a vast array of possibilities that you can keep playing the game for years and you will still not get bored. With Minecraft not being free, BlockBuild is a similar free game which can prove useful. It offers the similar pixelated layout and infinite possibilities of block building that, on paper, should keep you addicted for a very long time.

The first noticeable thing about BlockBuild is that it doesn't shy away from the fact that it is a lite version of Mine Craft. The graphics, right from its landing page, mimic the famous Mine Craft game. This is great, especially for people who have played Minecraft already. However, even if you are new to the world of block building and don't want to spend money on Minecraft, you will find BlockBuild very easy to learn.

BlockBuild starts off with four main buttons as the four option. You can start a game, connect to a server in your local network, access the settings or quit the game. You can also take a look at your achievements within the game by accessing the pane on the left-hand side of the screen. You would need an updated version of Google Play Games for the purpose though.

As soon as you would tap on the 'Play' button, you will be prompted to start a new world or load a world you have already created. If you are starting a new world, you can give it a unique name, select between seven map types and decide whether the size of your world should be small, medium or large. Once you are done with these selections, you can create the world and get started. If you are playing for the first time, the app would introduce you to the controls offered within the game. You can move with the controller on the left-hand side of the screen and move up or down with the controller on the extreme right-hand side of the screen. The blocks are shown at the bottom of the screen and you can place the block wherever you want when you are present on the ground. The app's inventory is loaded with a vast variety of options. There are a total of 72 types of blocks, 17 types of objects, 26 types of furniture, 13 types of plants and 24 types of triangular shapes that you can load from the inventory to start block building in your world.

The vast variety of options leads to infinite possibilities within the game. The fact that you can destroy any pre-loaded block or the block you have placed yourself by double-tapping on it means that you can recreate and rearrange your world with ease too. You can start your own server while playing in your world so that other people can join in on as well who are on the same network. The settings offer you the chance to decide on the rotation sensitivity offered within the game which is great as sometimes the rotation sensitivity is too high and a simple touch rotates the view entirely.
